Enrollment is now open for our one-of-a-kind outdoor elementary school!

Our students engage and explore the natural world every day with talented and experienced teachers and mentors. Our teachers encourage students to follow their innate curiosities about the natural world in our immersive wilderness classrooms with expert facilitation and instruction.

We know that each student is born with an innate connection to the natural world that, when tapped, brings out the best in them. The results are in, and numerous scientific studies confirm the many benefit of outdoor education.

Students ages 5 - 10 are now invited to register for the 2022-2023 academic school year. The enrollment process begins with an Introductory Phone Call. On the call, you will speak with Michael, the school's director, or Mariah, the school's Program Development Associate, to discuss specifics about our program and your student's goals. Please schedule a call now if you are interested in learning more about the only fully-outdoor elementary school in Los Angeles!

Low student to teacher ratios (6:1) ensure that your student will have individualized guidance to follow their interests in meaningful ways that facilitate deep and lasting learning.

The Four Pillars of Everlasting Elementary's pedagogy include:

  1. Constructivist Classroom

  2. Place-based Learning

  3. Nature Connection

  4. Social Emotional Learning

Through these approaches, our students experience deeper learning, academic excellence, and overall long-term successes in and out of school.

Our students love coming to school every day. They thrive in the fresh air and natural beauty of our weekly classrooms. As they connect to the environment, they connect more deeply with themselves as learners and as emotional beings, navigating an increasingly complex world.

Everlasting Elementary School is a rigorous yet inclusive academic program. We challenge our students to show grit and push themselves to the limits of their abilities. Along the way, we build meaningful relationships and connections that allow us to meet each student wherever they are on their academic journey.

Over the course of the school year, students study the Los Angeles River Watershed at a variety of local parks and wilderness areas while also receiving high-class instruction in foundational elementary subjects. This gives them a perspective like no other student in Los Angeles and prepares them for the complex modern world in which we find ourselves.

In addition to the standards-based core areas of instruction (reading, writing, math), students dive deep into a variety of supplemental topics that are rooted in our essential curriculum of environmental education and place-based learning.

These subjects include:

  • Spanish

  • Environmental Science (with NGSS guidance),

  • History & Social Science (LA & California development, from  native to American culture),

  • Health & Physical Education (understanding and caring for our bodies),

  • Social-Emotional Learning (checking in with ourselves and each other);

  • Art & Creative Learning (inspired by natural elements and our imaginations, modern art, and other global forms of expression).

Everlasting Elementary students are students of the real world and they develop advanced critical thinking skills as they adventure out into the natural and constructed environments of our city each day.
